Creating an email campaign in Uppush is a straightforward process that allows you to send personalized emails to your customers at the right moment. Whether you're promoting a sale, updating customers on new arrivals, manual email campaigns give you the flexibility to control when and how your message is sent.

Follow these simple steps to create your manual email campaign:

1. Navigate to the Campaigns Section

To start, log in to your Shopify store and navigate to the Uppush app, then click on Campaigns.

2. Create a New Campaign

  • On the Campaigns page, click on the New Campaign button in the upper right corner.

  • You will be prompted to choose between Email or Web Push. Select Email to create a manual email campaign.

3. Set Up Campaign Details

In the Create Campaign page, you will need to configure some basic details for your campaign:

  • Name: Enter the name of your campaign (e.g., "Email Campaign - Tuesday, December 24, 2024 9:22 AM").

  • Language: Select the language for the email content.

  • Subject: Write the subject line that will appear in your recipients' inbox.

  • Preview Text: Add the preview text, which is the short snippet displayed next to the subject in the inbox.

Inserting Variables:

  • Click on the "Insert variables" link next to the Subject or Preview Text fields.

  • A dropdown menu will appear with a list of available variables. These variables can dynamically pull information related to the recipient's profile or behavior.

Choose the Desired Variable:

From the dropdown, you can select variables like:

  • Subscriber First name

  • Subscriber Last name

  • Subscriber Email

  • Subscriber Country

  • Subscriber Device (and more)

  • Once you select a variable, it will be inserted into the text field at the cursor position.

For example:

  • If you select First name as a variable, the email subject can be personalized like: Hello {{First name}}, check out our new deals!

  • Similarly, you can use variables in the Preview Text to dynamically insert subscriber details.

This feature ensures that each email feels personalized, increasing engagement with your customers.

4. Choose Your Email Recipients

You can select the recipients of your email based on customer segments:

  • All Customers: Choose this option to send the email to all customers.

  • Exclude Segment: If you want to send the email to everyone except a certain segment, select this option.

  • Select a Segment: Choose a specific segment to target customers based on their behavior, purchases, or demographics.

To learn more about setting up segments, read this article.

5. Design Your Email

Uppush allows you to design your email using a template. You can either choose from pre-designed templates or create your own layout with the drag-and-drop editor.

Customize the content with text, images, buttons, and more to align with your brand and the message you're sending.

To learn more about customizing email template & email content, read this article.

6. Schedule the Email

  • Send Now: If you want to send the email immediately, select the Send now option.

  • Schedule: To send the email at a later time, select Schedule and choose the specific date and time for your email to be sent.

7. Configure Sender Information

Make sure to configure the following settings for the sender information:

  • Sender Name: Enter the name that will appear as the sender (e.g., your brand or business name).

  • Sender Address: Enter the email address from which the campaign will be sent.

  • Custom Reply-To Address: Optionally, you can set a reply-to address if you want customers to respond to a different email.

8. Preview Your Email

Before sending, always preview your email by reviewing the content and layout in the preview section. Make sure all dynamic content (like variables) is displayed correctly.

9. Send or Schedule the Campaign

Once you're satisfied with the email, click on Send Now to immediately send the campaign, or click on Schedule to have it sent at the chosen time.
