Verify Custom Domain & Set Up Email Sender

Verify Your Custom Email Domain in Uppush

Verifying a custom email domain helps improve your email deliverability and reduce the chances of your emails landing in the spam folder. By default, Uppush sends emails using our app’s domain, but you can use your own domain for better brand recognition and email reputation.

Why verify your domain?

  • Improves deliverability — increases the likelihood your emails land in your customers’ inboxes.

  • Strengthens brand trust — emails come from your store’s domain, not a generic one.

  • Reduces spam risk — authenticated domains are less likely to be flagged by inbox providers.

How to verify your custom domain

  • Go to the Verify Domain page In your Uppush dashboard, navigate to: SettingsVerify domain → then click Request verify domain to show the DNS records:

  • Copy the DNS records On this page, you’ll see up to 6 DNS records you need to add to your domain’s DNS settings:

    • DKIM (3 records)

    • SPF (2 records)

    • DMARC (if you already have a DMARC record, you can skip creating this one)

  • Add the records to your domain’s DNS settings

    • Sign in to your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare).

    • Find the DNS management or Domain records section.

    • Add each record exactly as shown in Uppush (matching Type, Host/Name, and Value).

  • Check your DNS

    • Return to the Uppush Verify domain page.

    • Click Check DNS:

    • DNS changes may take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours to fully update, and if you have just added the DNS records, it's recommended to wait 10 minutes before clicking this button to check verification status.

  • You’re verified Once all records are detected, your custom domain will be active and ready for use.

Set up your custom email sender

Verifying your domain is just the first step — you’ll also need to set it as your Email Sender in Uppush.

  1. Go to the Email Sender settings

    • Navigate to SettingsEmail sender.

    • You can also click the shortcut button from the Verify domain page once verification is complete:

  2. Select your custom domain

    • Choose Custom domain as the sender option.

    • Enter your preferred Sender email address from your new custom domain.

  3. Save your changes

    • Your emails will now be sent using your custom domain.

Notes

  • If DNS changes don’t show as verified right away, wait a bit and check again later.

  • Only one verified domain can be active at a time for sending emails.

  • If you switch domains, you’ll need to add new DNS records for the new domain.

  • This is a comprehensive guide that consolidates both Verify domain and Email Sender into one process, but if you need more information about each, check those articles out separately!
